Documents to Submit (Online)
You’ll need to upload scanned copies of the following documents:
A copy of your DNI, residence card, or passport.
A copy of your Official Academic Transcript up to the most recently completed year of secondary school.
Two recommendation letters:
One from a teacher or academic tutor.
One from a friend of your choice. These must be requested directly through the platform in the Application Form.**
A signed authorization form from your parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s).**
One passport-style photo (ID format).
Proof of payment for the application fee (see below).
UWC Peru may allow the following alternatives instead of the official transcript: a) Copies of your report cards showing final grades for all completed secondary school years (up to 2024); OR b) A Certificate of Academic Achievement issued by the Ministry of Education, showing final grades for all completed years of secondary school (up to 2024).
The documents are available in the application form.
Application Fees
UWC Peru is a volunteer-run organization made up entirely of alumni from UWC schools, who donate their time every year to carry out a national selection process that gives more young Peruvians the opportunity to study at a UWC school.
To help fund this process, UWC Peru asks each applicant to contribute a one-time application fee of S/. 40.00 (forty Peruvian soles), used exclusively to cover the operational costs of the selection process.
Inside the online Application Form, you’ll be asked to upload proof of payment (deposit or bank transfer). All instructions on how to make the payment are provided in the form.
Financial Assistance (Application Fee Waiver):
UWC Peru is committed to ensuring that an applicant’s financial situation never becomes a barrier to applying to our Selection Process or gaining access to a UWC education.
For this reason, UWC Peru offers full or partial fee waivers for applicants who, due to their family’s economic situation, are unable to pay the S/. 40.00 application fee.
Instructions on how to request a fee waiver are available within the Application Form.
Important
Keep your login information (email and password) safe, so you can return to complete or modify your application as many times as needed.
Carefully read the instructions found in each step/task of the form to avoid mistakes.
The form will ask you to answer several questions and fill out multiple sections. Make sure to provide complete and clear responses. Incomplete or illegible forms will not be accepted.
You will be asked to upload scanned documents. Make sure the images are complete, readable, and of good quality — poor-quality uploads may disqualify your application.
You will need to request 2 recommendation letters through the platform. To do this, you’ll need the email addresses of your recommenders (1 teacher/tutor and 1 friend of your choice). The platform will not allow you to submit your application until both letters have been received — we recommend you request them well in advance.
The application form includes multiple steps (tasks). You do not need to complete all sections in order or in one sitting — you can start and return to it over several days. Your progress will be saved until everything is ready.
We strongly recommend creating a folder on your computer where you store all your scanned documents. As a backup, save your long answers in a Word document, so you won’t lose your work if a technical error occurs. Having a personal backup is always a good idea.
All communications from UWC Peru to applicants regarding results and instructions for the stages of the process will be sent via email. In the pre-registration form, each applicant is responsible for providing a correct and active email address and for checking their inbox and spam folder frequently to stay up to date with official UWC Peru communications. UWC Peru is not responsible for missed or late-read messages.
Applicants must submit the requested information and/or respond to participation confirmations during the selection process within the indicated deadlines. Applications submitted after the deadlines will not be considered, and the applicant will be excluded from the process.
Young people participating in the selection process are applying to the UWC movement, not to a specific UWC school. UWC Peru nominates the selected applicants to one of the UWC schools based on their qualities, personal characteristics, and the available opportunities (scholarships/places). However, the final admission decision rests with each UWC school..
